Policies and Coaching Agreement

 1.   About coaching through Balanced Kids

In Balanced Kids, you will have a committed partner. I will work closely with you to identify your parenting and family life goals and help you develop strategies to support and achieve those goals. A partnership means we both play important roles in a successful outcome. Both sides need to be committed and engaged in carrying out those roles.

2.   Balanced Kids offers coaching, not therapy.

Coaching is a collaborative process by which you, the client, choose the goals you want to work on or the situations you want to improve. As your coach, I will help keep you on target, providing support, consultation, and suggestions focused on achieving your goals. The intention for coaching is improvement, achievement, and greater fulfillment. Therapy’s goal is also improvement in functioning, but it presumes that there is a lack of functioning or impairment as the starting point. If at any point the issues transcend our task, I can support you in identifying the appropriate mental health provider.

3.   As your parenting coach, you can expect me to:

  • Be honest with you and committed to your success.

  • Encourage exploring changes that will improve your family life.

  • Support you in setting parenting goals and taking the steps to meet your goals.

  • Provide careful listening, powerful questions and honest feedback.

  • Respect the confidentiality of this agreement and what is shared in our time together.

4.   As my Client, I expect that you will:

  • Be honest with yourself and with me.

  • Commit to goals that are meaningful to you.

  • Take ownership for your progress and your accomplishments. There will be exercises between sessions that will aid you in your goals, and it is up to you to follow through to enhance your progress.

  • Be responsible for your coaching time and activities, including, if applicable, having parenting partners attend all sessions.

  • Ask questions. You are welcome to email questions between sessions so we can use our session time most effectively. If you have questions or concerns about the process please do not hesitate to bring them to my attention. Open communication is crucial to coaching success.

5.   So let's get down to business!

A few things you need to know to get started.

  • Sessions are booked digitally, using scheduler links. All payments must be made at time of booking. There are no refunds.

  • Balanced Kids offers a variety of packages to meet families unique needs, at the end of your sessions we will discuss whether additional sessions will be beneficial.

  • Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to your scheduled session. Cancellations made closer to the session time may result in forfeiting the session and are at the discretion of Balanced Kids.

Parenting can be challenging. But it can also be incredibly rewarding. I am excited to begin our work together, to help you find the balanced family life you seek.
